Inaugural Everton Match v St Peter’s Print

£15.00

Archival quality art print of a poster we designed for the first ever football match under the name of ‘Everton’ in December 1879.

When the first Everton players carried goal posts from Park Lodge in Mill Lane to the south-east corner of Stanley Park they would never have known what precedent they would be setting. Not only would they be marking out the lines on a muddy field they would be marking the future of one of English football’s great institutions.

A handful of spectators gathered in that corner of Stanley Park  to watch Everton score a resounding 6-0 victory. This print reflects back to what it would be like if such a  poster existed to publicise the game (and as a quirk we have added, would the game have been sponsored by Noblett’s Toffee if match sponsorship existed in the late 19th century?)

Printed on 300gsm, acid free, Arcoprint Edizioni premium quality uncoated  paper using Epson Ultrachrome HD pigment inks.

24cm x 30cm Print set in a 30cm x 40cm white uncoated mount.
